There’s not much you can do about personal safety when riding an ATV, so don’t expect the rates to be cheap. However, there are some ways for you to find an inexpensive insurance policy for you:

• Collect quotes – rule number one when trying to find cheap insurance for anything: collect and compare quotes. You’ll be spending a lot of time and effort to do this, but it’ll be worth the hundreds of dollars you could save if you signed up for an inexpensive insurance plan.

• Stick with one company – if you own a car and it’s already insured by another company, ask them if they also offer motorcycle insurance. ATV’s fall into the category of motorcycle insurance, and if you may be legible for some major discounts if you sign your ATV up for insurance along with your car in the same company.

• Reduce mileage – you can negotiate for lower insurance premiums if you don’t use your ATV as much as your car. This is good if you plan to use your ATV for luxury purposes, although you can’t do much about this if you plan to use an ATV for work, like farming or other outdoor professions.
